Halloway Williams is an American Indie Pop act based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is the official stage name of singer/songwriter/producer Billie Sue Bracken (She/They) who is a queer artist and an advocate for mental health, body positivity, and support for neurodivergent and disabled individuals like herself.
Her act "Halloway Williams" was born out of a period of intense grief surrounding the loss of a friend. Her lyrics explore ideas of staying optimistic amidst the pain and struggles that come with overcoming grief, change, and mental illness. Inspired by elements of indie pop, folk, rock, and alternative music, Billie Sue is self-taught and her songs are currently all self-produced, mixed, and mastered. The ethereal nature of her sound is reminiscent of 70's & 80's indie rock and modern artists like Florence & the Machine. She also pulls inspiration from Jack Antanoff, Fleetwood Mac, Maggie Rogers, and the Lumineers. She hopes that the music she makes helps to bring healing, love, and light to others.
